Experience an Unforgettable Summer at Hôtel Monte Cristo
Categories : INAt the hotel , OUTParis
Summer is an invitation to travel, discover new places, and enjoy unforgettable experiences. Nestled in the heart of Paris's 5th arrondissement, Hôtel Monte Cristo embraces this spirit of escape in every detail. Inspired by the world of Alexandre Dumas and the great expeditions of the nineteenth century, the hotel transports its guests into an elegant setting where every room and every space tells a story.
This season, several exciting nouveautés enhance the Monte Cristo experience. Bar 1802, internationally renowned for its exceptional rum collection and creative mixology, unveils its brand-new cocktail menu, Cycles, an original concept that explores ingredients through the passage of time. At the same time, the hotel's swimming pool will temporarily close for a complete makeover before welcoming guests back in a refreshed setting this autumn. Altogether, these highlights make this summer the perfect time to experience Hôtel Monte Cristo before returning to discover even more new features later in the year.
Bar 1802 Unveils Its New "Cycles" Cocktail Menu
Since its opening, Bar 1802 has established itself as one of Paris's leading destinations for rum enthusiasts and cocktail lovers alike. Home to one of the world's largest collections of rum, the bar has always approached mixology as a form of storytelling, where every creation invites guests on a journey across continents, cultures and traditions.
This summer marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter with the launch of Cycles, an entirely redesigned cocktail menu built around the concepts of time, transmission and transformation.
The idea behind Cycles is both simple and remarkably ambitious. Rather than presenting ingredients solely through their flavours, the menu explores each one through three distinct perspectives: its Past, its Present, and its Future. Each cocktail reflects the history of an ingredient, its current expression, and the possibilities it offers for tomorrow.
Twelve carefully selected ingredients will become the guiding thread of this new collection. Throughout the year, they will inspire a series of original creations that evolve over time, encouraging both returning guests and first-time visitors to discover something new with every season.
Far more than a cocktail list, Cycles offers a genuine sensory journey where every glass becomes a chapter in a larger story celebrating craftsmanship, terroir, sustainability and the remarkable journeys ingredients take before reaching the bar.
Discover Cycle 1 Throughout the Summer
To launch this innovative concept, Cycle 1 will be available throughout the summer before giving way to Cycle 2 in the autumn.
The first cycle focuses on four familiar ingredients: coffee, lime, milk and chilli pepper. While these products may appear simple at first glance, each possesses a fascinating history that the bartenders reinterpret through original recipes and contemporary techniques.
Every cocktail encourages guests to look at these everyday ingredients from a completely new perspective. Innovative preparation methods reveal unexpected aromas, surprising textures and new flavour profiles while embracing a philosophy that values every part of the ingredient, limiting waste and encouraging a more responsible approach to modern mixology.
This philosophy perfectly reflects the spirit of Hôtel Monte Cristo itself: combining curiosity, culture and exploration to create experiences that go far beyond a simple tasting.
Whether you are passionate about fine rum, a cocktail enthusiast or simply curious to experience an entirely new approach to mixology, Cycle 1 offers the perfect opportunity to discover Bar 1802 during the summer months.
Our Swimming Pool Is Getting a Fresh New Look
In order to offer guests an even more enjoyable wellness experience, the swimming pool at Hôtel Monte Cristo will be exceptionally closed from July 15th to September 8th, 2026.
During this period, the pool area will undergo a complete refurbishment designed to reveal an even more elegant and welcoming space when it reopens in September.
Although the pool will temporarily be unavailable, everything else that makes Hôtel Monte Cristo so unique will remain open. Guests will continue to enjoy the exceptional atmosphere of the hotel, discover the new Cycles cocktail menu at Bar 1802, and take advantage of the hotel's ideal location for exploring Paris during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.
