Night at the Invalides; an enchanted evening

Categories : OUT - Paris, published on : 7/5/19

The Parisian summer is bursting with events, outdoor cinema, festivals of all kinds, unusual encounters and more. Today, however, the Monte Cristo team has chosen to focus on a very special show of its kind; a Night at the Invalides.

Sound and light magic at the Invalides

Imagine 50 minutes of spellbinding light and sound in one of the most beautiful places in Paris, the courtyard of the Invalides. The beautiful classical building, with its majestic colonnades and imposing golden dome, lights up every evening from July 12th to August 30th and offers an astonishing and wonderfully entertaining spectacle. This year, the show takes you through 3,000 years of tumultuous history, telling the story of how the Gallo-Roman settlement of Lutetia became modern Paris. Told by the voices of the actors Jean Piat, André Dussolier and Céline Duhamel, this immersive experience takes you from the Gauls to the Sun King, from Napoleon to the world capital of today.

After the show

The masterful Night at the Invalides spectacle showcases a Parisian monument that is less frequently visited by tourists and yet is awesome in its grace and majesty. After the show, discover the secrets of the Dome Church of the Invalides by taking an intimate and surprising tour. You’ll see the magnificent tomb of Napoleon I lit by the atmospheric glow of a thousand candles, as well as the last resting places of other French military greats. Book your tickets online today at the Nuit des Invalides (Night at the Invalides) website.

Your Hotel Monte Cristo invites you to enjoy an amazing experience; a journey back in time. You will discover how Paris became the great city it is today and the people who made it that way.
