This nocturnal celebration of contemporary art and culture continues to attract an ever-wider audience and there’s no doubt that this year it will again be a huge hit. The unique Nuit Blanche concept
The Nuit Blanche is an all-night arts and culture festival during which artists, performers, videographers, choreographers and other creative individuals use buildings and public places as their canvas, stage or setting, presenting shows, installations and other events. The public wanders the city, stopping at whim when something catches their eye, to watch, admire and appreciate the art and interact with the artists. Entirely free, diverse and inclusive, the Nuit Blanche weaves deep and natural links between artists and people who might never step inside a contemporary art gallery or museum.
What the 18th Nuit Blanche will offer
The Nuit Blanche will take place on the night of October 5th to 6th but will have an early start this year as the first item on the agenda is a parade between the Petit and the Grand Palais starting at 14:00. Later, the City of Paris invites you to travel two original routes leading from monument to monument. Conceived as a race without a sporting objective, the course will be both fascinating and astonishing. Finally, one of the great moments of this Nuit Blanche will undoubtedly be the illumination of the Périphérique ring road, which will be closed to motor vehicles for the entire night, but open to cyclists. So, hop on a bike and discover the creations of artists along a route that we never thought would become a work of art!
