Immerse yourself in the world of Parisian haute couture

The Hotel Monte Cristo team invites you to cross the Seine to the Right Bank and its famous Golden Triangle. It was there, in the prestigious street called the Avenue Montaigne, that Christian Dior opened his fashion house and launched 60 years of Parisian and worldwide creativity. Since March 2022, the premises have housed the Galerie Dior, an exhibition space dedicated to the brilliant couturier and six of his successors.

A legendary address 

When Christian Dior opened his fashion house on the Avenue Montaigne after the war, he contributed massively to making the thoroughfare what it is today: a temple dedicated to haute couture and fashion. It’s only natural, then, that the foundation has gathered there a collection of unique artifacts and testimonies relating to the couturier. From his childhood to his passion for art in the 1920s and first fashion show in 1947, Christian Dior’s journey is traced through photos, sketches, designs, archives, videos and more.

An ode to fashion

The Galerie Dior also and above all offers an astonishing collection of accessories and clothing items designed by Dior and his six successors, Yves Saint-Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri. You will see before your eyes the birth of the New Look, which liberated women and movement in the mid-20thcentury. Essential for fashion enthusiasts, the exhibition also offers an eye-opening experience for neophytes as the scenography and the collections are fascinating.

Treat yourself to an aesthetic and almost dreamlike immersion in the world of Parisian haute couture at the Galerie Dior. In the heart of the Golden Triangle, a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées, it’s also an opportunity for a lovely stroll on the Right Bank before returning to enjoy a cocktail at the Bar 1802 of the Hotel Monte Cristo.
